Agra-the city of the inimitable Taj Mahal-has a heritage
and culture that dates back to the Mughal era. Situated on
the banks of the river Yamuna, it is home to several world
famous Heritage monuments which include the  Taj
Mahal, Red Fort, Itmad-ud-Daulah and the tomb of
Emperor Akbar at Sikandra. The city of Fatehpur Sikri (a
UNESCO World Heritage City) is situated 45 kms from
Agra. Agra is also famous for its leather goods, handicrafts,
zari, zardozi, marble and stone carving, and inlay work.
Situated three and a half hour's by road from New Delhi, it
is well connected by rail, major stations being Agra Cantt.,
Agra Fort and Raja Ki Mandi (nearest to Dayalbagh). The
weather in Agra in November is cool (Min. temp. 10°C,
Max. temp. 25°C).
About the Dayalbagh Educational Institute
The Dayalbagh Educational Institute is located amidst the
tranquil environs of Dayalbagh, a self-contained colony
renowned for its serene environment and secular establishments, in which its inhabitants lead an active, disciplined
and co-operative community life dedicated to service,
conforming to the high spiritual ideals of their faith.  On the
outskirts of the historic city of Agra, the campus is situated
in garden settings, away from the din and noise of the city.
Nestled between lush green fields, it provides an excellent
ambience and academic setting which is in harmony with
nature. This, along with a simple, disciplined and principled life of Dayalbagh, undoubtedly contributes to the
strength of the social, moral and spiritual fibre of the
Institute's educational system.

the 150th year of the foundation of the Radhasoami Faith and
100 years of the Constitution of the Radhasoami Satsang
Sabha.  The Government of India conferred the status of a

on 16th May, 1981 with the mission objective of evolving a
‘complete man’ providing opportunities to develop physical,
mental and spiritual faculties under its unique innovative and
comprehensive educational policy with accent on quality.
Comparative Study of Religion is a core course in all its
undergraduate programmes. Post-Graduate Diploma in
Theology was introduced in 2004 that also runs in centres
outside Dayalbagh, in India
and abroad. The Dayalbagh
Educational Institute also
offers a programme on
Integrated Post Graduate
Diploma - M.A. - M.Phil. -
Ph.D. in  Theology from
2009. Inter-disciplinary
Study and Research
programmes are being
pursued in practically all the
faculties on  Theologyrelated subjects.
D.E.I. Journal of Science and Engineering Research has
started a special supplement on Theology from 2007. D.E.I.
organized an International Seminar on “Spiritual Awakening:
A Systems Approach to Address the Civilizational Crisis”
under the Patronage of Revered Prof. P.S. Satsangi,
Chairman, Advisory Committee on Education, Dayalbagh, a
pioneer of Applied Systems Research which serves as a
“think tank” for navigating educational activities of D.E.I..
D.E.I. also organized a Joint International Conference on
Applied Systems Research and XXXIII National Systems
Conference in November 2009 which fittingly had a section
on “Esoteric Macrocosmic/Microcosmic Spiritual Systems of
Consciousness”. It is thus in the fitness of things that D.E.I. is
organizing the International Seminar on “Religion of Saints
(‘Sants’) – Radhasoami Faith: Spiritual Consciousness
Studies” in the momentous year 2010.
About
Dayalbagh and D.E.I.
THE RELIGION of Saints (‘Sants’) comprises the teachings
of Saints (‘Sants’) and Fakirs like Kabir Sahab, Tulsi Sahab
and Maulana Rumi culminating in the Radhasoami Faith
founded by Param Purush Puran Dhani Soamiji Maharaj on
the Basant Panchami Day, the 15th of February, 1861 A.D.
They taught people to have unflinching faith in the True
Supreme Being, the Reservoir of Spirituality and to worship
Him internally by the practice Sahaj Yoga or Surat Shabda
Yoga i.e. uniting the spirit with the spiritual sound current
that emanated from the Supreme Being manifesting as
Radhasoami, Satt, Soham, Rarang, Om, Lahut, Niranjan etc.
at different levels.  This practice is to be learnt from the
perfect Satguru of the time by developing love and affection
and therefore faith for Him.
Spirit is the highest Truth that has ever been discovered and
there is nothing higher or nobler than spirit, the Atman, and
the Reservoir of Spirit Force activating spirit, mind and body
is God. There is no Truth higher than God and no enjoyment
higher than God realization.  The characteristics of that
reservoir of spirit force are Sat, Chit, Anand, Prem and
Prakash - Truth, Consciousness, Bliss, Love and Refulgence.
The individual spirit confined in human being is enveloped
by covers of mind and physical body. However, providence
has provided within the human body a special spiritual
faculty which when developed enables one to perceive Truth
and Ultimate Reality. It is the exclusive function of religion to
teach all about that faculty and help man in awakening the
hidden senses and nerve centres in the brain and show the
way in which they can be made kinetic by Sound Practice.
These spiritual practices have been the essential
teachings of all religions which are not being nowadays
pursued, unfortunately. The Religion of Saints (‘Sants’) not
only revived this practice but also gave out secrets of
higher realms of spirituality, telling them about the
corresponding nerve centres in the human brain and
stressing the need of awakening them undergoing training
under the adept who has himself awakened all the hidden
senses.  Thus religion is proved to be the Science of
Spirituality, nay the Science of Ultra-transcendental
Spirituality - the Para  Vidya par excellence called the
Religion of Saints (‘Sants’) or Radhasoami Faith.
THE MAIN objective of the Seminar is to bring together all
those who believe in science and / or in the pre-eminence
of spirituality and the urgent need to awaken the spiritual
faculties of man for his own salvation and the welfare of
humanity at large.
The proposed sections in the seminar are -
1. Scientific Methods of Study of Consciousness
2. What is Science of Spiritual Consciousness
3. States and Levels of Consciousness
4. Emergence of Higher Levels of Consciousness
5. Consciousness - Spiritual Consciousness
6. Means of Attaining Higher Levels of
Spiritual Consciousness
At the conclusion of the proceedings of the Seminar on the
second day, a Panel Discussion along with a  Valedictory
Session will be held.
It is proposed to have a Conclave for discussion on “Religion
of Saints (‘Sants’) as Science of Spiritual Consciousness” on
the third and final day, that is, on 14th of November, since it
unifies all spiritual traditions to which leaders of different
spiritual traditions of Radhasoami Faith will be requested to
participate. Participation in the conclave on the 14th of
November will be by invitation only.
